Hatta Ramadan Tournament: A Bigger and Better Third Edition
The stage is set for an exciting third edition of the Hatta Ramadan Tournament, the largest sporting event in the Hatta region, kicking off tomorrow. Hosted with support from the Higher Committee for Supervising the Development of the Hatta Region and organized by the Dubai Sports Council and the Group Games Company at the Hatta Sports, Cultural and Social Club, this annual sporting spectacle coincides with the Holy Month and is expected to draw extensive participation from athletes and spectators alike.
Tournament Details
This year’s tournament, running until 22 March, features a total of ten sporting disciplines:
- Indoor Football
- Men’s Volleyball
- Women’s Volleyball
- Men’s Beach Volleyball
- Electronic Games Championship
- Running Race
- Walking Challenge for Senior Citizens
- Weightlifting Championship
- Women’s Badminton
- Tug-of-War Event
Multiple Venues
The indoor football, men’s volleyball, beach volleyball, electronic games, and weightlifting competitions will take place at the Hatta Sports Club. Women’s volleyball and badminton competitions will be conducted at the Community Development Authority Hall in Hatta, while the sustainable Hatta Waterfalls will host the senior citizens’ walking challenge.
Community Engagement
This year’s tournament emphasizes the objectives of the ‘Year of Community’. It aims to boost community cohesion and reinforce positive values such as teamwork, mutual respect, and sporting conduct. The event also showcases the significant benefits of adopting a healthy and active lifestyle and represents an invaluable opportunity for fostering closer interactions among diverse segments of society, enhancing prospects for sustainable development with lasting social and economic benefits.
Community Activities

Organizing Committee and Support
The organizing committee has completed all preparations for hosting the tournament, which is sponsored by Al Shafar Investment Company and the Roads and Transport Authority, in cooperation with Dubai Police, responsible for securing the tournament and ensuring audience engagement. Additional support comes from the Community Development Authority in Dubai, Dubai Ambulance, and the Dubai Municipality Office in the Hatta area.
Youth Involvement
The organizing committee has made concerted efforts to involve the youth of Hatta at every stage of preparation for the tournament. This initiative aims to hone their skills and capabilities, instilling a strong sense of teamwork and national purpose while promoting volunteering and community spirit among young citizens.
